Hotel BLOOM! is proud to welcome The ADAM [Brussels Design Museum] for Design September 2017.
The ADAM [Brussels Design Museum] is a space dedicated to design from the 20th and 21st centuries. It was established after the Atomium’s acquisition of the Plasticarium collection in December 2014. The ADAM offers an innovative and surprising insight on plastic design from the fifties to the present and on other forms of design through other periods, expressions, materials and themes.
For four weeks during the 2017 Design September’s edition, the ADAM takes up residence in the Secret Room of the Hotel BLOOM!
Significant and telling pieces and pictures from the museum’s Plasticarium collection showcase a sample of 60 years of plastic design and creative uses of colors, gloss, transparency, lightness, malleability and rigidity. From the Cactus of Guido Drocco & Franco Mello to the Universale of Joe Colombo and iconic pieces from Kartell, the pop-up exhibition is an original look at the impact of plastic on design and imagination and at the striking creativity born out of the all-plastic utopia.
September 7th at 7PM
